Long Drive Competition Returns to Mesquite
February 25, 2021
Long Drive competition will return to Mesquite, Nevada next week for the inaugural event of the 2021 Professional Long Drivers Association tour:
PLDA DESERT LAUNCH
March 5th - 7th
Mesquite Sports Complex at Mesquite, Nevada
The event, which runs from March 5-7, includes Local Qualifying for Amateur competitors on Friday with the first-of-eight Regional Qualifying sessions (to qualify for the World Championships) on Saturday. Tour-level events will be held for Masters competitors on Saturday, and for the Ladies Division and the Open Division competitors on Sunday.
Over the years there have been many venues for long drive competition; however, most long drivers and their fans consider Mesquite to be the home if not the "Mecca of Long Drive". Maybe, it is the beautiful vistas of this scenic high desert locale or maybe it is the beautiful flat-and-even championship grid or possibly it is the hospitality and the welcomiing friendship of the local residents and city officials of Mesquite who have made long drivers feel that this is their home.
The Open Division tour event on Sunday will feature some of the top long drivers in the world with 2019 World Champion Kyle Berkshire and 2017 World Champion Justin James listed as the early favorites.
For qualifying and other information check-out the PLDA website.
